Collaboration with Bämsemble
SALT is the name of a two hour physical theatre performance with ten actors on stage and two musicians, that has the aim to re-define the way we experience Italian popular theatre today.
Five days of collaboration with this extraordinary company of artists from all over the world has yielded Audiovisual Projections as part of the performance and this short documentary that sets the tone of the work done. In effect this is just the beginning. What happens next is in full gestation: Salt will open with a bang in Milan this coming year.
In fact the Bämsemble's work, led by Jon Kellam, Madeleine Dahm, and Andrea Cavarra, is very right on the note of ¡Lazaro! and all of our work done so far. The colours, the element, the physicality, the intensity, and even narration, mirror a growing need to evoque prowess on stage. Popular theatre has always been a cradle for performing arts, its ground for evolution, its capacity to change, transform, unconditionally provoke, but beyond it all to look deep into the social structure and create anew.
This Audiovisual work marks a further step into the long ongoing personal collaboration with Andrea Cavarra and Zorba Officine Creative, through the creation of Snout Maks and towards opening new dynamics in performing arts.
